For this assignment I decided to take a picture for the animal category. We had to use aperture, shutter speed, and anything else we learned so far in this class to take the best picture we could of any animal. Best Animal PhotoTechnical data: I set the shutter speed on this photo to 1/2 of a second mostly because there wasn't that much movement in the photo. I set the aperture to 3.2 to show a pretty big depth of field, I wanted the background to be more blurry then the main subject so it's really easy for the viewer to see what I was going for. 5 Best picturesSummary: For this assignment I took many pictures of my dogs, unfortunately my dogs don't do much to be honest so I tried to be as creative as possible by framing the camera differently. I thought these pictures would look better in portrait mode so thats mostly what I took. For my best photo I edited it by blurring the background a little more and lighting the whole image up.

In this assignment we had to take a picture of our self and put it in photoshop. We had to follow the directions on how to make the picture into 4 and add color to it so the picture pops and makes it look very cool. What I learned: I learned how to crop a picture in photoshop to make it a square. I also learned how to change the hue and saturation for a picture and how to make an unsharpened mask.
I started the shutter speed at 1/2 sec and as you can see his hand is really blurry. Then in the second picture I set it to 1/4 of a sec and it gets a little bit better. in the third picture I set it to 1/20 of a sec and his hand is almost in place. Finally the last picture I set it at 1/40 and his hand is stopped in place. Not much in these photos have changed but the first picture I set the aperture to 2.8 and that should make the markers look out of focus. In the second I set the aperture to 3.2 and it should have made the background look a little bit more in focus. The third picture I set it to 3.8 and the background should have all the markers be mostly in focus. The final picture should have the back 2 markers very blurry and the front one sticking out. Questions:
1. A fast shutter speed allows less light to come in so the picture looks like it has a lot of motion. 2.A slow shutter speed allows more light to come in causing the photo to have less motion. 3. A large aperture makes the depth of field in an image bigger. 4. A small aperture makes the depth of field a lot smaller and the background is not out of focus. For my first post for this project I will be doing an animal post of my dog. My idea is to get a picture of him sitting down outside and use depth of field to make the photo look better.
FramingThis photo is a good example of framing because it closes in on the object even though there are more subjects outside of the main subject. For this photo I had to represent space, so took a picture of a very open space with a small subject in the middle. This photo shows balance because it has 2 similar objects on each side of something that is very different. This picture shows perspective because of the angle I took the picture it makes it look like the sign is very tall even though it is much shorter.
I thought this picture would be good for color because even though it mostly has the color blue there are many different shades.
Rule of thirdsPatternThe main subject in this photo is the pattern of the floor I added the shoe in there to make add and actual object and to tell the viewer that it is a floor. SymmetryTextureLinesDepth of FieldIn this photo I thought it would look good to have the subject darker than the rest of the picture, it shows depth mostly because the background is blurred out and the viewer can really notice the main subject.
Some of my interests/hobbies include, playing video games, playing tennis and watching baseball. I work as a waiter at a retirement home named Brecon Village. I have an older sister and 2 dogs named Ella and Tucker.
I took this class so I can learn more about photoshop and how to make the photos I take better. I don't have much experience in photography but I'm in a lot of video classes so I thought they would be kind of similar. |
