The reason I took the class was that I wanted to get better at photoshop, I didn't know how to feel about the picture taking part of this class. Once we got into the class we were mostly taking pictures which I turned out really enjoying but I was more excited about the photoshop. Before I took this class I knew nothing about taking pictures and photoshop and I feel like this class really helped me be a better photographer and I know a lot more stuff about editing my photos in photoshop. Overall I really enjoyed taking this class and I will take more pictures and work with more photoshop in the future. Here is some of my best work from this trimester: During this class there were also some pictures that didn't end up looking all that great but I learned to get better with composition and exposure and stuff to make my pictures better here are some of pictures that didn't seem to work for me: Overall I really enjoyed this class and I know way more stuff about cameras, photoshop, etc. Now I can use some of the things I learned in this class on personal projects in the future.

PunsIn this assignment we had to think of 3 puns and make them visual by getting different pictures online and putting them together. DictionaryFor this assignment we had to think of a word, put the definition in the picture, and find other photos online that supports the definition and gives examples of what that word means. During this assignment it really allowed me to be really creative with the things I was putting in the image. It helped me a little bit mire with photoshop with masking and layering.
UneditedEdited Best PhotoFor this Photo Assignment I chose motion, I had to take a photo of something that was moving. By using a big shutter speed I could capture an image that was moving and it wouldn't look blurry. Next best 5During my experience in this assignment I decided to to a picture of my cat because I thought it would really cool if I got a picture of her swatting at a toy of some sort. For my best photo I used 1/10 shutter speed a 4.0 aperture and ISO of 800. While editing the photo I cropped out my other cat that was in the corner of the image. I also brightened the picture because in the original it was very dark.
For this assignment we had to take 2 different portrait pictures one in the studio with lights and shadows and one that was made with the lights in the hallway and a bounce card. We had to make sure we gave the subject enough head room and make sure to not get anything in the background that isn't suppose to be there. What I learned during this assignment was that lights make a very big difference while taking a picture of someone. Also making sure the subject is standing right in front of the background because depth makes the picture way better.
Best PhotoFor this assignment we had to choose a topic to take a picture of, I chose macro. With macro you have to set your camera to macro mode and that makes it focus in on close objects. Next 5 PhotosWhat I learned during this assignment was that macro mode only focuses objects up close. If you try to take a picture in macro that isn't up close it will be very blurry. For my best photo I used 1/4 shutter speed and 3.2 aperture with a ISO of 800 mostly because it was really dar in the room.
For this assignment we had to look at the dash of color and Polaroid tutorial and pick at least one more tutorial on our own. Dash of ColorMythical SceneryPolaroidsLink: https://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/screen-jump/ Throughout this assignment I learned more about layer stacking with the polaroid tutorial. Another thing I learned was is a different way to desaturate a photo in the Dash of color tutorial. I learned how to use the pen tool better than I already do with the Mythical Scenery. For the most part in this assignment I was doing the mythical scenery and that was very difficult and pretty frustrating. The other tutorials I did were a lot more fun and I actually learned a lot of stuff.
Best PhotoFor this assignment I could take a picture of anything that would look good in black and white. I had to go out find something that would look good in black and white then put each photo in photoshop and turn it into black and white then choose the best photo I took. Top 5 other photosI decided to take a picture of a ping pong table because because the colors are pretty simple and its they are not needed in the picture to tell what the picture is. For my best photo I used a shutter speed of 1/25 and an aperture of 4.5 with the ISO being 800 because it was very dark. For the editing I took away a few specs on the table and turned it Black and white.
For this assignment we had to take at least 5 pictures of yourself or someone else and put them all in the same photo. We had to put all the pictures in photoshop and align them up then mask them. What I learned in this assignment is how to put multiple photos in a stack on photoshop. Also I learned how to use the lasso tool to make each picture.
Best PhotoIn this assignment I had to take a picture of a person. I chose this setting because I thought the background with all the other pictures would have looked really good with them all blurred out. This makes the main subject look more in focus. What I learned in this experience was to keep a high shutter speed so the photo doesn't look blurry, also to keep the brightness at a reasonable level so there is less noice in the photo.
Original PhotoEdited PhotoI learned a lot during this project, such as how to import images into a photo that I have taken before hand. I also learned a lot about layer stacking and how to mask certain parts of the picture. I decided to choose a Mario theme mostly because i saw the trash can and thought that I could put the piranha plant inside of it.
For this assignment we had to choose one of the topics for the weekly photos, I chose food because I thought there are many options and multiple different foods I could take a picture of. For this assignment I took a picture of cheesy potato skins. I thought this would be a good topic to choose because I work as a waiter so I have access to a lot of food there. The only thing I edited i this photo was turning it sideways because originally it was vertical and to me it did not look good. The shutter speed I used was 1/2 a second and aperture was 3.8 with the ISO at 200.
For this assignment we had to take multiple picture in a row and then in photoshop we used something called photomerge which merges all the photos you took to make it a panorama photo. What I learned in this assignment was how to make a panorama with photoshop. I didn't think my photos were going to work that well but it turns out it worked very well.
For this assignment I had to take multiple pictures of nature, it could be any picture as long it relates to nature. Then I had to choose which picture I took was the best so I chose the picture below. I took this photo with 1/20 shutter speed because there wasn't much movement and it didn't need to be that high. It also has an aperture of 2.8 to really make the background out of focus and put some highlights on the main object. I set the ISO to 200 to give the photo enough light so the viewer can see it perfectly. What I learned from this project is how to change the ISO to make the lighting look either brighter or darker. I also learned how to focus in on an object and make the background blurry.
For my second photo assignment I decided to choose nature. At my house we have a lot of flowers and plants that look really pretty and I will try to make a very nice photo of either one of those.
For this assignment we had to follow steps to make the original picture look better by retouching it. We had to get rid of the glare on the hood of the car by using the clone stamp tool, change the color of the car, and make the background completely black. In my second one I took the white off of my dog's face and in a way it makes him look younger.
